Katie Leclerc talks about ‘Switched at Birth’ Finale

March 25, 2012 | No Comment |

‘Switched at Birth’ gave some huge twists when Emmet played by Sean Berdy went to bed with Maiara Walsh’s Simone. His relationship with girlfriend Bay played by Vanessa Marano was already at their lowest ebb but it still came as a shock when he did that. And this totally broke what ever relationship he had with Toby who’s played by Lucas Grabeel.

Katie Leclerc

Katie Leclerc has been talking on how the event would influence what is going to happen in the season’s finale. Her character Daphne is Emmet’s BFF and her special night at the prom with Wilke may be destroyed if what Emmet did get to her. And the events have already made the already tension soaked and upcoming prom night a bit more complicated for Wilke.

He happens to be the only one now that knows about Emmet and Simone says Leclerc. And being placed in such a situation has added more pressure to an already tense situation. She went on to explain that he has both loyalties to Bay and Toby so it is a strange place to be in for him as at the moment. Her character Daphne’s loyalty is with Emmet but the situation he is in might not get her support since it was basically him making a bad decision.

She went on to say that she thinks Daphne would not be picking sides because they are both to blame. Bay had already helped Daphne out in giving her an idea on how to ask Wilke to the prom so they are at this moment in a very good place relationship wise. They are not always like this as they clash more often that not but the present situation adds to the complication.

She said that they are both naturally competitive even towards each other but some of her best time on the show is when they are both working together rather than being at loggerheads. She said that she loves Marano to pieces. She also said that the prom episode was one of the few when they did lots of scenes together and that she particularly enjoyed them because she was with a friend.

In the early days of the 2012 episode, her character was daydreaming about having a relationship with Emmet. That was before Wilke and Bay stepped into the scene. When asked if Daphne is still holding out the torch somewhere deep inside for Emmet she said there is room for both of them to eventually end up together. But she said things might be shaken a bit when she gets to find out about his dalliance with Simone.

But the season finale promises some major drama if you are a fan of Daphne and Wilke. She said that she does get messages with some going on about how cute they are together as a couple. But it balances out with those who feel that Wilke is a jerk for not making any attempt to learn sign language. Dropping a strong hint on the direction of their relationship, Leclerc said that the season’s finale will witness a dramatic change in the relationship dynamics between Daphne and Wilke. She said some fans would be glad while others won’t.
